Civil Works & Dam Safety: Using Drones and UAVs for Dam Inspection
Series: Civil Works & Dam Safety
Date : August 19, 2021
Drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (or UAVs) are an alternative option for conducting inspections of dams and other civil structures at hydroelectric facilities. In many situations, this type of technology is preferable, for example, if the owner needs to monitor conditions at a hard-to-access site or the safety of personnel may be at risk during the inspection. During this session, several project owners who employ this technology will discuss how they made this decision, the type of technology used, and the results achieved.
