TOP PLANNING TIPS FOR LASER TRACKER USE DURING AN OVERHAUL
Series: Around the World with Hydro
Date : April 21, 2021
Make the most of your laser tracker when overhauling a vertical hydroelectric turbine by effectively planning for its time on site. With proper planning, laser trackers accurately provide an excellent all-in-one solution for reassembly alignment, including measuring and aligning stators, turbines, headcovers, brackets for center, elevation, and level. After disassembly, it is possible to verify the embedded turbine components’ level and concentricity, align and round the stator and center brackets. Laser trackers can also verify the roundness and concentricity of the generator rotor, and can be used to set up/align any in-place machining equipment, and then confirm that all machining tolerances are met. Learn top tips to building a proper plan that is critical to effective and efficient laser tracker use during your vertical turbine overhaul.
